How to use HEIC to PNG Converter

  1. 01

    Upload your HEIC photo

Drag in a photo from your iPhone or iPad, or click to browse. It travels to our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection.

  2. 02

    We decode it losslessly

The server reads every pixel of the HEIC file and automatically corrects EXIF orientation, so the photo comes out upright with nothing lost.

  3. 03

    PNG is encoded automatically

There is no quality slider to set — PNG always stores every pixel losslessly, so the output matches the decoded image exactly.

  4. 04

    Download your PNG

Metadata such as GPS location is stripped from the result. Both the original HEIC and the converted PNG are deleted from our servers within 24 hours, so save it promptly.

Why choose our HEIC to PNG Converter

True lossless output

Nothing is recompressed — every pixel from the decoded HEIC is preserved exactly, which matters if you plan to edit the photo further.

Metadata stripped, files auto-deleted

GPS and device metadata are removed from the PNG. Uploads use HTTPS, and files are automatically deleted from our servers within 24 hours.

Try it without an account

Anonymous visitors get 1 free server conversion, so you can test the result before deciding whether to sign in.

3 free conversions after a free sign-in

Creating a free account raises your limit from 1 to 3 conversions and lifts the file-size cap from 20 MB to 50 MB.

Batch convert and download a ZIP

Paid accounts can upload up to 100 HEIC files in one batch and get every converted PNG back in a single ZIP archive.

Settings guide

No settings — fully automatic
PNG is lossless, so there is no quality slider — you always get full image quality. EXIF orientation is corrected automatically so the photo comes out upright, and metadata is stripped from the output for privacy.

About the formats

HEIC

HEIC is the default photo format on iPhones and iPads since iOS 11. It stores images compressed with the HEVC (H.265) codec inside a HEIF container, producing files roughly half the size of an equivalent JPG.

Its compression is excellent and it supports features like 10-bit color and image sequences. The weakness is compatibility: Windows often needs paid codec extensions, most websites and upload forms reject it, and Android support is inconsistent. Converting HEIC to JPG remains the most reliable way to share iPhone photos outside the Apple ecosystem.

PNG

PNG is a lossless raster image format created in the mid-1990s as a patent-free replacement for GIF. It is the standard choice for screenshots, logos, UI graphics, and any image that needs transparency.

PNG preserves every pixel exactly and supports a full 8-bit alpha channel, so text and sharp edges stay crisp. The downside is size: photographs saved as PNG are far larger than the same image as JPG or WebP. Support is universal in browsers and editors, making it a safe default for graphics — just avoid it for large photo collections.

Troubleshooting

The PNG is much larger than my HEIC
That's expected. HEIC uses very aggressive compression, while PNG stores every pixel losslessly, so photos often grow 5–10×. If you need a small file, use our HEIC to JPG converter instead — PNG is best when you need lossless quality or plan to edit further.
My file is too large to upload
Anonymous uploads are limited to 20 MB per file. Signing in for free raises the limit to 50 MB, and paid accounts can upload files up to 200 MB. A single HEIC photo is rarely over 20 MB, so also check you didn't select a video (.mov) by mistake.
How long do you keep my files?
Files are uploaded over HTTPS and kept only long enough to convert and download: the original HEIC is deleted within 6–24 hours and the converted PNG within 24 hours. Download your result promptly — expired files cannot be recovered.

FAQ

What is HEIC?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's default photo format on iOS and macOS. It offers better compression than JPG while maintaining quality.
Why convert HEIC to PNG instead of JPG?
PNG is a lossless format, so converting HEIC to PNG preserves every pixel exactly. Choose PNG when you need transparency support or the highest fidelity for editing.
Is the conversion private?
Yes. Your files are processed securely and deleted after conversion. We never share your photos.
Is there a file size limit?
Free accounts can upload files up to 50 MB. Paid users can upload up to 200 MB.
Will my photo keep its orientation and colors?
Yes. EXIF orientation is applied automatically so portraits stay upright, and the wide-gamut colors of iPhone photos are converted through the embedded color profile.
Can I convert several HEIC photos at once?
Signed-in users can batch-convert up to 5 files on the free plan and up to 100 files on a paid plan, and download all results as a single ZIP.
